Akela presides over the wolf pack’s Howling Moon ceremony, but even Mowgli’s junior wolf friends laughed at his pitiful, all to human howling. Told be jealous, ambitious Phaona, failure to howl well there means expulsion, Mowgli resolves to take his advice and leave the jungle already on his own. But Tabaqui puts Shere Kahn on the trio’s tail, and Mowgli attempt to escape into a ruin leaves his wolf mates trapped. Mowgli must now howl-alert Akela’s troop for their lives.
